Union – Management Consultation

The subject of this workshop is one of four core topics that Joint Learning Program has chosen to highlight.

This session is tailored for those Union-Management Consultation Committees (UMCC) that want to be on the leading edge of the transformation and modernization of union management relations in the federal public service. Participation in this learning event will improve the understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a UMCC member and those of their counterparts. As a group, you will jointly develop a vision of your relationship and what you need for that vision to be realized.
You will also create the working tools to guide your consultative practices over the longer term.

JLP-PAM

“This course has changed, in a positive way, the dynamics of our union-management interactions.”
Joyce Hendy
National Vice President (Ontario)
National Component, PSAC

“As moderator for the facilitators’ training sessions, I was able to notice the participants' desire, both management and union, to work towards a common goal. The spirit of equal sharing, of sharing of knowledge and respect, which prevailed during the week are, in my opinion, a guarantee of success for the JLP initiative. Convinced of the validity of this initiative, HRDC management and the PSACcomponents in the Quebec region submitted a proposal that was accepted by the JLP. This initiative shows the sincere concern both parties have for the employees’ well-being. We believe the JLP will be an invaluable tool to help us reach our common goals. “
