New Facilitators for the BC-Yukon Region

From January 15 to 19, the British Columbia-Yukon region hosted a new cohort of facilitators. Program Officers Suzanne McFarlane (employer) and Konstantin Kilibarda (union) were delighted at the support participants offered each other from the first day. “Many seemed to have an instant connection, even though most had never met before. Their dedication to the process shone through and not rain, nor sleet, not winter storm would deter them from completing their week,” says Suzanne.

Participants worked with the material from three different JLP in-person workshops: Preventing Harassment and Violence in the Workplace, Understanding the Collective Agreement and Respecting Differences/Anti-Discrimination.

Our newest facilitators found the week fulfilling and enlightening, as evidenced by their feedback at the end of the week. “Transformational – A great orientation that provide a unique perspective to adult learning with fantastic guidance and support,” wrote Jennifer Macintosh (employer, ESDC)  and Morgan Nixon (union, CSC) writes, “An amazing opportunity to grow and give back to the federal public service”.

The JLP joins Regional Field Coordinators Michael Van Nen (union) and Aaron Billesberger (employer) in welcoming the new facilitators and hopes they continue to learn and grow together!
