Training on Mental Health
20 facilitators from the National Capital Region took part in mental health first aid training in Ottawa on February 25 and 26. The purpose of the training was to allow participants to obtain their certification in Mental Health First Aid from the Mental Health Commission of Canada. Certification is part of a process that facilitators have to undergo before being authorized to lead workshops.
Genevieve Charlebois, Anna Maria Di Cesare, Emilie Dionne, Elizabeth Dotson, Dean Giroux, Richard Graham, Lénold Guerrier, Marchael Holtz, Melanie Kirkey, Kara Lafleur, Annie Laquerre, Élise Lemoine, Louise Levesque, Kathie Ostrihon, Lorrie Pierson, Francine Pilon, Patrick Rosemond, Melvin Musqua, Brad Stoodley and Dawn White are the 20 candidates who have successfully passed the first such training given by the Joint Learning Program (JLP). Marcia Vergara, JLP Program Officer and accredited mental health first-aid trainer, gave the training.
