Creating a Healthy, Safe, and Inclusive Culture

Training for Occupational Health and Safety Committees

This two-day in-person workshop gives participants the opportunity to increase their knowledge, develop their skills and capacity to contribute to occupational health and safety (OHS). Based on experiential learning principles, participants will share experience, identify patterns and apply their new knowledge to practical workplace issues.

The workshop is geared towards Policy and Workplace committee members as well as OHS representatives for workplaces with fewer than 20 workers. The content of this workshop meets the training requirements found under the National Joint Council OHS Directive. JLP facilitators with OHS knowledge and experience co-facilitate each session.

Participants will discuss the legal framework and roles and responsibilities in supporting workplace OHS. Trainees will explore topics like hazard prevention programs, workplace accidents, workplace inspection, internal complaints, preventing violence and harassment, committee efficiency and more.

Registration is now open. Please note that supervisor approval is required to register.

  • Workshop is free of charge
