Indigenous Peoples Day
The Joint Learning Program recognizes Indigenous Peoples Day, June 21, 2020. The ongoing legacy of colonialism and the trauma and intergenerational impact of the residential school system have contributed to the social, political and cultural marginalization of Indigenous Peoples.
In this time of physical distancing, mark National Indigenous Peoples Day by exploring Canada’s Indigenous cultures from home by reading a book from the #IndigenousReads reading list, or exploring the rich trove of Indigenous films available online through the National Film Board.
The JLP is proud to offer workshops that foster a culture of respecting differences, challenging stereotypes and promoting a workplace free of harassment and discrimination.
