The JLP mourns the passing of Joseph Ryan
An employee with the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) for over thirty years, Joe Ryan joined the JLP as a facilitator in 2011. A devoted member of the Ontario-Nunavut facilitation team, Joe delivered close to 50 workshops for the Program including Duty to Accommodate, Labour-Management Consultation, Mental Health in the Workplace, Preventing Harassment and Violence in the Workplace, Respecting Differences/Anti-Discrimination and Understanding the Collective Agreement.
Joe also delivered the new virtual session Grounding Ourselves in Uncertain Times when it was launched in June 2020.
Feedback from Joe's co-facilitators, organizers and participants was consistently positive. The messages from his past co-facilitators speak of his openness, his ability to make the subject engaging, his positive influence, the warmth of his smile and his welcome.
Joe’s commitment and contribution to a healthier workplace will have a lasting impact on the federal public service.
The JLP extends its sincere condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. The impact of his loss on his community cannot be measured.
