Acceptance, listening and dialogue bring a learning-friendly climate to the latest orientation session

Regional field coordinators Karen Sokol (Employer) and Mindy Mackie (Union) welcomed a new cohort of facilitators to the Prairies-Northwest Territories region from October 7th to 11th, 2024 at the Delta Hotel Regina in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Life changing. Deep appreciation for (the) opportunity. My personal, business and professional and volunteer skills uncovered and enhanced.

The learning activities for the future facilitators were based on the JLP’s experiential approach. The activities also improved the participants’ facilitation and communication skills using the material from three JLP workshops, namely Preventing Harassment and Violence in the Workplace, Understanding the Collective Agreement, and Respecting Differences/Anti-Discrimination.

JLP is the best adult learning program I have experienced!

Joel Hildebrand, Union, DND

Program Officers Suzanne McFarlane (Employer) and Catherine LaPierre-Ouellet (Union) commented, “The feeling of collegiality among participants was created from day one. It's wonderful to see how, day after day, participants gain facilitation skills, experience and share tips. We're delighted to welcome this wonderful cohort to the JLP.”

The JLP joins its Program Officers in welcoming its newest cohort to the program!
