The Atlantic Region welcomes 18 new facilitators

Moncton, New Brunswick hosted the Atlantic region’s recent facilitator orientation session, which ran from April 20 to 24. Regional Field Coordinators (RFC) Anissa MacLeod (employer) and Easson Haskin (union) welcomed 18 participants to the week of learning and growing together.

Excellent facilitation. Engaged, well-structured and created a respectful, inclusive learning environment.

- Michelle Gallivan, ESDC, union

Program Officers Catherine Lapierre-Ouellet (union) and Suze MacFarlane (employer) guided the freshly minted facilitators through three JLP learning kits, Preventing Harassment and Violence in the Workplace, Understanding the Collective Agreement, and Respecting Differences/Anti-Discrimination. The experiential learning activities honed participants facilitation and communication skills throughout the week.

I made so many new friends, learned so much, and am so excited to facilitate my first session.

-Amanda MacIntyre, Canadian Heritage, employer

Highlights from the week included each participant receiving the gift of a tree from the RFCs to mark Earth Day, a cake to celebrate the JLP’s 25th anniversary, and visits on Wednesday from experienced JLP facilitators who shared their JLP journeys.
