The JLP meet and greet at the UNDE Triennial in Banff
The Union of National Defence Employees (UNDE) held its triennial convention in Banff earlier this year. The JLP held a kiosk at the event over August 24 and 25. Mindy Mackie, the Regional Field Coordinator for the Prairies (union) and Roxanne Lépine, Co-Director of the Program (employer) greeted approximately 75 members at the table, many of whom knew what the Program had to offer and were committed to organizing activities in their workplace. Others connected with colleagues that had established JLP activities and encouraged them to organize more.
They also met with many facilitators who encouraged their colleagues to join the JLP as facilitators. It was a great opportunity to meet with those who support the Program both as organizers and facilitators, and to recruit new members who had no idea what the Program has to offer. Many attendees expressed interest in the upcoming Occupational Health and Safety sessions in Western Canada as well in the in-person activities that the Program offers.
It was a great opportunity to meet with some organizers, facilitators and one that asked to take a picture with the JLP. Chandani is one of the Atlantic’s newest facilitators bringing passion and energy to support workplaces in her region!
