A JLP presence within the Atlantic National Managers Community

The Atlantic Regional Field Coordinators (RFC) have been active within the National Managers Community (NMC) events recently. The NMC network brings together managers and aspiring managers of the federal public service, providing learning opportunities of current trends, best practices and conversations on challenges of the management cadre. The NMC held two events under the Managers Connect 2024 banner, focused on inclusive leadership. A woman sitting at a table speaks to a participant

Atlantic RFCs Marc Diotte (employer) and Cassandra Grosse (union) promoted the JLP to around 100 managers at the May 8th event in Moncton NB.  During the June 5th NMC, in Halifax NS, Marc and Cassandra were asked to host a kiosk at the event, but also give a presentation on the JLP and answer questions from the audience of approximately 80 managers.

The JLP kiosk shared the exhibit space with other important programs geared at public-service employees, including the Office of the Public Sector Integrity Commissioner of Canada, the Public Service Pride Network and the Canada School of Public Service.

The JLP presence at both events was successful and has had some immediate results. One direct effect has been an increase in workshop requests for the summer and fall. In addition, many managers have also indicated their interest in becoming facilitators with the program.
