Trans Day of Remembrance: November 20th
The JLP recognizes Trans Day of Remembrance as a time to honour and remember those who have tragically lost their lives due to ignorance and hatred, specifically because of their transgender or gender non-conforming identities. This day also offers us the chance to celebrate the lives of trans and non-binary individuals and the invaluable contributions they make to our communities.
On Wednesday, November 20th, we encourage everyone to engage in this important day of remembrance by participating in vigils, attending webinars, or offering support in other meaningful ways.
In our workplaces, it is essential to provide year-round support for our trans colleagues by fostering an environment that is safe and inclusive for all individuals, regardless of their gender identity and expression.
As we mourn those we have lost, we stand in solidarity with our trans colleagues and their families in their pursuit of lives characterized by dignity, safety, and freedom.
The Joint Learning Program is dedicated to creating a respectful and healthy workplace, free from transphobia and all forms of harassment and discrimination in all our learning events.
