Launch of New JLP Workshop - Preventing Harassment and Violence in the Workplace

In the last few years, there have been many legal developments on harassment and violence in the workplace, including the adoption of Bill C-65 in October 2018.

Following consultations with experts from employer and unions on the objectives and learning activities, the JLP has developed a workshop that will reflect the new legal landscape.

The new workshop, which will be available for delivery in July 2019, will cover warning signs and the impact of harassment and violence. It will examine the new Canada Labour Code health and safety provisions on harassment and violence and the human rights framework under the Canadian Human Rights Act.

The roles and responsibilities of the employer, the union and employees in the workplace will be discussed. Finally, participants will explore options on how they can deal with harassment when it occurs in their workplace and identify ways to create a safe, healthy, inclusive and respectful workplace.

We look forward to working with you to bring this cutting-edge workshop in your workplace. There is no cost. Your time and availability is all that is required.
